Draft2Digital And Lion Blood

Hey, friends! Hope all are having a blessed week.

I have good news. I decided to go back to Smashwords. Oh wait. Smashwords is now Draft2Digital. I think that’s an awesome acquisition. Reason why is now self published authors can now have their books in print. There’s still the option of e-books. I chose to put mine in print.

Plus, a big bonus about Draft2Digital is there’s options to format the print book the way you want. Some of the formatting is limited. But, the options they have are pretty nice. And, since I can make my own book covers I can upload those too. Showing off more creativity.

Of course, Draft2Digital is going to take their cut. So basically they don’t get paid until the author does. But, the other retailers like Amazon and Barnes and Noble, etc will get their percentage too. Their cut isn’t too bad and I like that a lot better than paying for everything in installments or all up front. Shouldn’t it be that way anyway? Depending on how much their percentage is.

Another plus is the author gets paid every month.

I like that the author can set their own price. I set mine at twenty dollars. I have the confidence to believe it’s worth it.

I’m just waiting on Draft2Digital to approve my payment method. Then my book will be available for purchase. I’m trying to be patient. I’m ready to upload the second Lion Blood book. I don’t have to wait to upload it. I just am.

I uploaded Lion Blood Book One on April 21, 2025.

As far as Lion Blood, I really enjoyed creating the characters, building their world and creating their own society. Their myths and legends. Their loves and lives. I hope I’m staying true to them and what I envisioned them to be. I hope that for all the characters of my stories. May you enjoy reading their stories also.
